Discovery Study No. 11 · October 2, 2026
Pyrrha
AI knows the brand. Recommendation visibility still depends on the platform.
Thirty years of distinctive talisman jewelry have made Pyrrha unusually legible to Search and AI systems. But when the exact same non-branded wax-seal shopping question is asked across three AI surfaces, one of them leaves Pyrrha out.

Pyrrha's discovery footprint is not a case of an obscure brand waiting for machines to understand it. Google ranks the brand first for a meaningful non-branded category query. Gemini and Google AI Mode accurately identify Pyrrha for wax-seal jewelry. ChatGPT, given the identical shopping prompt, recommends six other sellers instead.
01 · Search
Google already connects Pyrrha to the category.
Semrush's US database shows 1,063 ranking keywords and an estimated 2,556 monthly organic visits. The important signal is not the branded traffic. Pyrrha ranks #1 for “talisman necklace,” “talisman necklaces,” “black onyx talisman,” “garnet talisman” and “talisman rings.”
The category relationship is therefore already explicit in conventional Search. Pyrrha does not need a shopper to know how to spell the brand before Google can surface it.
02 · Brand & positioning
A thirty-year-old brand found its signature in a box of damaged seals.
1995
Wade and Danielle Papin founded Pyrrha in Vancouver after beginning to make jewelry together at their kitchen table.
2000
Pyrrha's own history dates the discovery of damaged antique wax seals to 2000. Those seals became the basis of the talisman language that now defines the brand.
2025
BCBusiness documented the brand's 30-year trajectory, founder ownership, in-house production and long-running celebrity adoption.
A 2025 BCBusiness profile places the wax-seal discovery in 2005, while Pyrrha's current official history says 2000. Found & Form preserves that discrepancy rather than silently choosing between the two accounts.
03 · Owned
The site repeatedly explains object, meaning and method.
Pyrrha's homepage leads with “Find Your Talisman,” then separates sterling silver, 14k gold and men's talismans. Its mission and sustainability pages add another layer: symbolism, recycled metals, local production, B Corp status and a certified Zero Carbon Vancouver studio. That repetition makes the entity unusually easy to classify.
Object
Talisman necklace, ring, bracelet, charm, amulet.
Meaning
Symbols tied to protection, transformation, love, resilience and personal stories.
Method
Lost-wax casting, recycled precious metals, Vancouver production and visible maker's marks.
04 · Products
The product language reinforces the category.

The aggregate score is low. The underlying entity recognition is not.
Semrush AI Visibility · Worldwide
23 / 100
Low · 280 mentions · 162 citations · 197 cited pages. Snapshot: September 30, 2026.
The report is heavily North American: 144 measured mentions in the US and 115 in Canada. The score tells us Pyrrha is not broadly dominant across Semrush's monitored AI universe. It does not tell us that AI systems fail to understand the brand.
06 · Same prompt, three systems
One shopping question produces two different discovery outcomes.
Controlled non-branded prompt · US
“Where can I find unique wax seal jewelry online?”
ChatGPT · Sep 4
Absent
Six brands and sellers were named: Sue Gray Jewelry, SWALKDESIGNS, Liliane Ting Studio, Ashley Lozano Jewelry, Shannon Westmeyer Jewelry and The Gilded Lily Store. Pyrrha was not included.
Gemini · Aug 17
Recommended
Pyrrha appeared among five options. Gemini correctly connected the brand to 19th-century wax seals, talismans, recycled metals and its zero-carbon studio.
Google AI Mode · Sep 28
Recommended
Pyrrha was the first named brand in the supplied response, described through Victorian wax seals, recycled metals and Vancouver production.
AI knows Pyrrha. Whether it selects Pyrrha depends on the system answering the question.
07 · AI sources
Owned authority leads, but the evidence ecosystem is distributed.
In Semrush's cited-source view, Pyrrha's own domain was the leading source in the US slice, with 67 measured mentions across 53 URLs. The Canadian version of pyrrha.com also appeared near the top. Etsy, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Google and ELLE Canada were among the other leading domains shown.
Owned
Pyrrha.com supplies a deep first-party explanation of products, symbols, materials and production.
Distributed
Retail, social, community and editorial domains reinforce or reinterpret the brand outside its own site.
Selected
Different AI systems can assemble those signals into different recommendation lists.
09 · Research implication
Being legible to AI is not the same as being selected by AI.
Pyrrha complicates a simple “AI visibility” score. The brand has strong first-party entity information, meaningful Search rankings, more than a thousand referring domains and hundreds of measured AI mentions. Two AI systems recommend it for its signature wax-seal category. One does not.
The discovery gap is not recognition. It is recommendation transfer.
10 · Methodology
What we measured, and what the numbers do not prove.
Search: Semrush US database, current snapshot accessed October 2, 2026: 1,063 organic keywords, 2,556 estimated organic visits, 42 keywords in positions 1–3 and 56 in positions 4–10. Semrush figures are modeled estimates, not Pyrrha analytics.
Backlinks: Semrush Backlink Analytics snapshot: Authority Score 35, 15,547 backlinks and 1,020 referring domains.
AI Visibility: Semrush AI Visibility, worldwide/all monitored platforms, September 30, 2026: 23/100, 280 mentions, 162 citations and 197 cited pages. Platform distribution: ChatGPT 48, Google AI Overview 45, Google AI Mode 91, Gemini 96.
Prompt test: US Prompt Research for the exact non-branded query “Where can I find unique wax seal jewelry online?” Responses were dated August 17 (Gemini), September 4 (ChatGPT) and September 28 (Google AI Mode), 2026. The responses are illustrative snapshots, not exhaustive measures of each system and can change over time.
Owned-site research: Pyrrha's official history, mission, sustainability and responsible-business pages, plus product pages. The brand says it was founded in 1995 and dates the antique-wax-seal discovery to 2000.
Independent sources: JCK and BCBusiness. BCBusiness dates the wax-seal discovery to 2005; Pyrrha's own current history says 2000. Both are reported rather than silently reconciled.
Interpretation: Rankings, backlinks, AI mentions, citations and prompt outputs show observable discovery signals. They do not establish causation, conversion, revenue, or why a model selected or omitted a brand.
AI can understand a brand without recommending it everywhere.
