Discovery Study No. 05
The Zoë Chicco Discovery Study
How a Los Angeles fine jeweler became something shoppers find before they know her name.

Key findings
Search that finds strangers
About a third of estimated organic traffic comes from people searching her name. The rest arrives through products: chain rings, threaders, diamond drops, chokers. That's unusual for an independent brand. In our IDYL study, brand searches made up 56%.
An editorial brand
Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Forbes and People all link to zoechicco.com. That coverage is the backbone of an Authority Score of 34.
Her name works for others too
Of the first ten Google results for "zoe chicco", five are stockists' pages. Only one is zoechicco.com.
A spring peak, then a summer slide
Estimated traffic hit about 20,200 visits in June 2026, then fell 36% in two months. Ranking keywords are down 28% year on year.
A reputation you can't read
There are no reviews on the site, few community threads, and about 30 searches a month for "zoe chicco reviews". The praise lives in magazines, not in shoppers' words.
The Found Footprint & Found Score
A Found Footprint maps every door through which a shopper can encounter a brand: Search, Creators, Editorial, Community, Owned and Commerce. Each channel is rated 1–5. Together they form the Found Score.
Search · 4/5 Strong
~10,400 estimated monthly US organic visits across ~7,000 keywords, most of them non-branded.
Found Score 21 / 30. Search 4 out of 5 (Strong); Creators 2 out of 5 (Minimal); Editorial 5 out of 5 (Dominant); Community 2 out of 5 (Minimal); Owned 3 out of 5 (Present); Commerce 5 out of 5 (Dominant). Compared with IDYL (20/30): Search 2, Creators 5, Editorial 4, Community 3, Owned 3, Commerce 3. Compared with Nana Bijou (16/30): Search 2, Creators 1, Editorial 2, Community 3, Owned 3, Commerce 5.
Found Score
21 / 30
Covers six channels. AI assistant visibility is not scored in this edition. Creator and community scores are based on a light scan.
Zoë Chicco has the highest Found Score we've recorded so far, and the most balanced top end: editorial, commerce and search all pull their weight. The weak doors are the ones that belong to shoppers: community conversation, reviews and creators. They're also the doors a new generation of jewelry buyers checks first.

Section 03How the Found Score works
Each channel is rated from 1 to 5 against the rubric below, based only on the evidence documented in this study. Ratings are an informed assessment, not a precise measurement. The score is most useful for its shape: which channels carry a brand's discoverability, and which don't.
| Score | Label | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Absent | No meaningful presence found. |
| 2 | Minimal | Present, but small relative to peers or limited mostly to people already looking for the brand. |
| 3 | Present | An established, consistent presence with clear limitations. |
| 4 | Strong | A substantial, high-quality presence that regularly introduces the brand to new audiences. |
| 5 | Dominant | A defining channel for the brand, with both scale and repetition. |
Channels scored: Search, Creators, Editorial, Community, Owned, Commerce. Maximum score: 30.

The brand describes itself as "delicate and modern, sexy but elegant", with pieces "significant enough to be worn alone but delicate enough to wear layered together". It's everyday fine jewelry, and that category is searched by product, not by designer.
Search Footprint
Most independent jewelers we study are found by name. Zoë Chicco is found by product. Collection pages for chain rings, threaders and drop earrings rank alongside much larger retailers, and they bring in shoppers who have never heard of the brand.
Where non-branded traffic comes from
Estimated monthly visits from the top 60 keywords, grouped by product. Collection pages carry most of it.
A name shared with the stroller aisle
"Chicco" is also one of the best-known baby-gear brands, searched about 22,200 times a month in the US. "Zoe" is a stroller brand too (14,800 searches a month), and shoppers pair the two. Search for Zoë Chicco reviews on TikTok and stroller comparisons appear alongside the jewelry. The brand name works because shoppers usually add a jewelry word to it.
| Source | Est. visits/mo | Example terms |

| Chokers | ~155 | 14k gold choker necklace, 14k gold choker |
| Personalised | ~105 | personalized necklace, custom 14k gold necklace |
| Hand chains | ~105 | solid gold hand chain, hand chain, diamond hand chain |
Chain ring. Threader earrings. Ladybug bracelet. Nobody typed her name, and they still found her.
Search Over Time
For five years traffic has moved between about 7,000 and 20,000 visits a month without a clear long-term trend. Spring 2026 was the best stretch on record. Since June, traffic has fallen 36%, and ranking keywords are at their lowest level since late 2022.
zoechicco.com: estimated US organic traffic and ranking keywords, Jan 2021–Aug 2026
Estimated organic traffic moved from 13,039 visits in Jan21 to 12,942 in Aug26, peaking at 20,237 in Jun26. Ranking keywords peaked at 14,012 in Feb23. Feb23: Keyword peak: 14,012. Jun26: Traffic peak: ~20,200.

Content Ecosystem
Categories: Earrings, Necklaces, Bracelets, Rings, Charms. Collections include Threaders, Chain Huggies, Ear Cuffs, Chain Rings, Hand Chains and Signet Rings
No journal
The catalogue is organised the way shoppers search: collection names like "Threaders", "Chain Huggies" and "Hand Chains" match real search terms. But there's no blog or journal. The site's written guidance is limited to care, ring-size, bracelet-size and charm guides. Everything that explains why a Zoë Chicco piece is worth buying is written by magazines, not by the brand.

The Competitive Field
Semrush's closest organic competitors are other everyday fine jewelry brands, several of them from Los Angeles and New York.
| Brand | Est. visits/mo (US) | Keywords | Referring domains | Authority Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zoë Chicco | ~10,400 | 6,964 | 1,123 | 34 |
| Jennifer Miller | ~27,200 | 6,346 | 916 | 36 |
| Sarah Elise | ~20,900 | 8,474 | 553 | 23 |
| Stone and Strand | ~19,100 | 8,967 | 1,406 | 37 |
| Zoe Lev | ~12,900 | 4,966 | 1,982 | 33 |
| Sydney Evan | ~10,700 | 7,035 | 1,109 | 36 |
Sarah Elise has half as many linking sites as Zoë Chicco and about twice the estimated traffic. Jennifer Miller ranks for fewer keywords and gets more than 2.5 times the traffic. Authority alone doesn't explain the gap.

Product Distinctiveness & Discovery Leverage
Product Distinctiveness
Observed fact: Chain rings, threaders, hand chains and Itty Bitty motifs rank for their own searches, often in the top three. Interpretation: Zoë Chicco owns product types, not just a look. When a shopper searches for the thing, the brand is already there.
Discovery Leverage
Observed fact: Dominant editorial and wholesale presence, minimal creator and community presence, no journal. Interpretation: The brand's reputation was built by gatekeepers: editors and buyers. Discovery is shifting toward shoppers talking to each other and asking AI assistants. Gatekeepers built this brand. It's less clear they'll keep it found.
When the next shopper asks an AI assistant for "a gold chain ring from an independent designer," whose words will it use to answer?
